Cholesterol Diets
The primary cause of high blood pressure and high cholesterol is the raising cholesterol diet that most of us eat. Even though a lot of people have a genetic factor to high cholesterol, luckily the vast majority can lower their cholesterol levels with a lowering cholesterol diet. This natural step is much better than taking pills. Whenever you’ve been diagnosed with high cholesterol, having a good diet meal plans to get lower cholesterol levels is a must. The first line is modifying your existing diet.
There are two basic items of a lowering cholesterol diet in your diet plans: 1) high-fiber content, and 2) low saturated fat content.
The most tested technique of lowering cholesterol is by consuming more sums of fiber. Fiber induces the liver into absorbing more cholesterol. And cholesterol seizes itself to fiber so that it’s excreted from the body with stools.
Vegetables, whole grains and nuts are the best sources of fiber. Fruits, legumes, and seeds are also well recommended.
Only animal source foods contain cholesterol. More important point is the fat that is usually in the high cholesterol items. Unsaturated fat is OK but saturated fat is avoidable. A high cholesterol diet may or may not contain high saturated fatty acids.
Your diet will be lower in cholesterol naturally if you lower your fat intake. The lowering cholesterol diet that you consume also needs to be low in saturated fats. Therefore watch saturated fat intake closely. Always notice on food labels and watch the word “fat, trans fat, saturated fat, cholesterol”. The lower amount of these items mentioned the better for you.
Saturated fat is found in fatty meats, red meat, cheeses and other high-fat dairy products, greasy, salty snacks and most baked goods as well as other high fat foods.
However, fats are crucial to mental and physical health. Don’t make the fault of skipping out all fats. Nuts are the types of fats you like to include in a low-fat diet come from high-fiber sources. While not high in fiber, fish (containing omega-3, omega-6) and fish oil supplements are really helpful, especially where triglycerides are worried. Another tips is tried to use olive oil for cooking as often as possible.
