There is no such thing as bad cholesterol as stated by misanthropy. Cholesterol is bad if they oxidize with other molecules like Ca and lodging in the vessels then macrophages start engulfing it to dispose of it.

Cholesterol is needed for almost everything in the body, including cell membrane, brain cells, hormones, and much more. Cholesterol is the building blocks of the body. The body is dependent on Cholesterol.

Tryglycerides are fat that your body can use for energy.

  2. munchichi8 Says:

HDL = High Density Lipoprotein. HDL is a PROTEIN that binds with cholesterol to carry away from the body to the liver to recycle using the blood vessels as a transportation system.

LDL = Low Density Lipoprotein. LDL is a PROTEIN that carries cholesterol to other parts of the body using the blood vessels as a medium, WHICH IS NOT EXPLAINED IN HERE!

It is assumed that the final destination of cholesterol is at the bl vessel, which is VERY WRONG!

    very good illustration,
    any solution for this?

Mother’s breast milk (yes, human breast milk) is fairly high in fat (of which 40%-50% is saturated) and cholesterol. I guess mother nature is trying to kill us in the crib eh ? (notice the sarcasm). Seriously, it still blows my mind how people think nature is a doofus and doesn’t know what she’s doing, and that some quacks’ artificially made crappola products can help us better than the things she’s already provided us with !

Thanks for your information! After reading your comment, i really checked up on it. Now i know that cholesterol really IS just one type of molecule, but there REALLY are good and bad cholesterol, right? it’s just categorised according to whether it is transported in low-density (bad) or high density lipoproteins, right?

    Amazing Video

  12. misanthroposy Says:

@DFresh215 HDL is just a protein that takes the damaged cholesterol back to your liver, where cholesterol is manufactured and then the old cholesterol is recycled and turned back into new cholesterol. Your body isn’t stupid. Eating cholesterol has little if anything to do with cholesterol levels in humans.

  13. misanthroposy Says:

1:53 She says once this layer is damaged. Did she specify why it was damaged? People have been really misled as to how cholesterol actually works. And first off. Cholesterol is cholesterol. Their is no good and bad. LDL means low-density lipo-proteins. no where in that term is cholesterol stated. people get the proteins which only transport the cholesterol mixed up with the actual cholesterol. Look the information up. Their isn’t enough room for me to write how cholesterol really works here.

What the drug companies like this one don’t want you to know is that most people who actually die from heart attacks had high levels of calcium deposits in the arteries. Its the calcium that makes the plaque harder and easier to break and block your arteries.

This video obviously only talks about cholesterol because its in their best interest to sell more cholesterol medicine.

Your body makes cholesterol, its needed, the problem is calcium, if you cut the calcium you cut your death risk

    Excellent video…!!!!

  21. hairyfatslobpig Says:

I likes the video up to the point they mentioned remember to take your medicine. According to the New England Journal of medicine, about 50% of heart attack victims have normal cholesterol. Their is no evidence that a blood test showing high cholesterol means it will turn into to plaque. That is primarily your genes. Although many anti statins lower readings, there is no evidence to support they help in plaque prevention. Eating well, omega3′s, vitamin C, low dose aspirin and exercise. Thats it

thx for the illustration, really i could not get a better understanding when reading articles.this is focused and well designed.

  24. Flippy92 Says:

Outstanding video! Just a few notes: the innermost affected layer of the artery is called the tunica intima (composed of endothelial cells). The hardening of artery walls is caused by the death of smooth muscle cells in the tunica media and the deterioration of elastic fibers (then replaced by scar tissue). This hardening is called *arteriosclerosis.*
